What Does this widal Test Result Mean?

hi doctor my wife is suffering from typhiod after the widal test....o was 1:320 , h- was 1:180....a(h ) was...1:80 and b(h ) was 1:40 after taking the injection of c-xone 1gm 12 injection for 12 days once....the report of widal still shows the same.....plz suggest what to do....age is 24 years and weight is 50 kg....

Hello,

It is clear from the test report that your wife is suffering from typhoid.

I am surprised that in spite of taking ceftriaxone for 12 days, the Widal test is still positive.

It would have been better had you mentioned about her fever.

I would have prescribed ofloxacin and cefixime. Tylenol should be given if the fever continues. Give her bland diet to eat and keep her hydrated.

Please ask your doctor for a prescription of the same.
